- Information Services
- The Information librarians are located on the first floor of the Sasol Library. Their main responsibility
is to assist both staff and students in finding information in various formats. Information Librarians
also provide training for users on various databases and electronic information resources including
the Internet, so that users will be able to find information on their own. An information awareness

- Together with other libraries in South Africa, there is an active exchange of information resources
to supply users with information that may not readily be available in the institution's libraries.

- ERC & I-Centre
- The ERC and I-Centre provide TUT students with access to the Internet and computer facilities in
order to:- Send and receive electronic mail
- Participate in electronic discussions with fellow students, lecturers
- Type, print and save projects, assignments, tutorials CVs etc.
- Search for, filter and obtain information
- Use the e-Assessment tools and facilities as required.
- Copyright
- Under the provisions of the Act, libraries and archive depots are authorized to supply photocopies or
other reproductions of information material. The photocopy or reproduction is not to be used for any
purpose other than private study or personal use. Should a user request, or later use, a photocopy
or reproduction for purposes not permitted by the Act, such a user may be liable for copyright
infringement.
The Institution reserves the right to refuse to accept a copying order if, in its opinion, the
Copyright Act would be violated by doing so.

This section is situated on the first floor of the Sasol Library. It houses a collection of periodicals,
daily, and weekend national newspapers.
This section is closed on Saturdays.Multimedia Collection
The Multimedia collection includes cassettes, CD ROMs and DVDs.Reference Collection
Situated on the ground floor of the Sasol Library, material in this section is mainly for reference
purposes only and can not be borrowed (i.e. these resources must be used within the library).
The collection includes dictionaries, encyclopaedias, maps and atlases.
